Overview
BizCalc ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. The short version: we collect almost nothing, and your financial inputs never leave your device.
Information We Do Not Collect
All calculations on BizCalc run entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
- Revenue, salary, loan, or any other financial figures you enter into calculators
- Business names, personal names, or contact details entered into any field
- Calculator results or outputs
- Any data you type, select, or interact with inside the calculator tools
When you close your browser tab, all calculator inputs are discarded. Nothing is saved to a database or server.
Information We Do Collect
Like virtually all websites, we collect standard anonymous analytics data through Google Analytics 4 (GA4). This includes:
- Pages visited and time on page
- General geographic region (country or city level)
- Device type, browser, and operating system
- Referring website or search query that brought you here
This data is aggregated and anonymous. It does not identify you personally and is used solely to understand which calculators are most useful and how to improve the site.
Cookies and Local Storage
We use a single item in your browser's local storage to remember your dark mode preference (fh-theme). This stores only the value "dark" or "light" and is never transmitted to any server. Google Analytics may set its own cookies as part of its standard operation; you can opt out of Google Analytics tracking via Google's opt-out browser add-on.
Google AdSense
BizCalc displays advertisements served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show you relevant ads based on your browsing activity. For more information, see Google's advertising privacy policy. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ad Settings.
Affiliate Links
Some calculators include links to third-party products and services (QuickBooks, Gusto, Kabbage, OnDeck, Shopify). These are affiliate links — if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. These partners have their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review before purchasing. We do not share any of your data with affiliate partners.
Third-Party Services
Beyond Google Analytics and Google AdSense, BizCalc does not share data with any third parties. We do not sell, rent, or trade any user information. We do not use advertising tracking pixels from social media companies or any other analytics providers.
Children's Privacy
BizCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
Data Security
Because we do not collect or store your financial data, there is no risk of your calculator inputs being exposed in a data breach. The site is served over HTTPS. The only data we hold is aggregated, anonymised analytics data retained by Google Analytics per their standard retention policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of BizCalc after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
